How to play
Signing in
- Why should I sign in?
Sign in to save your score, shout out to your friends and beat them on the scoreboard for all to see. You can play as a guest on our web version, and we'll save the score for your current session. But we'll keep bugging you to sign in.
- If I'm not signed in, does my score get saved?
Yes, we'll save your score for your current play session. Once you leave blufr, the score leaves too.
- What if I don't have a Facebook or Twitter account?
You can create one in a snap. You don't have to go on Facebook or Twitter to play blufr. But if you do, you'll have a much richer experience playing the game: challenging your friends, comparing scores and sharing memorable blufs.
Note: We are not affiliated with Facebook or Twitter. We will never store your Facebook or Twitter password when you sign in on blufr.
Play modes
- What are bonus categories?
Every once in a while, when the mood strikes us, we'll swap in a new bonus category. Play it while you can... like all good things, it will fade away with time. (Don't worry - the category may go, but your points stay!)
- How can I suggest a bonus category?
Drop us one of those electronic mails everyone's talking about.
- What if I run out of blufs to play in a category?
- What are bluf-o-grams?
bluf-o-grams are blufs that you create and send to your friends — or frenemies. Blow their minds with true or false information about you, them, or any topic. Share your custom-made blufs on Facebook, Twitter or email.
You can create a bluf-o-gram by going to your profile and clicking Create a bluf-o-gram next to the bluf-o-grams tab, or share ones you’ve already created by clicking the tab itself.
Settings
- How do I change my picture?
The picture on your blufr profile is the picture you had when you first signed in through Facebook or Twitter. We're pretty powerful, but at this time, it's not in our power to change that.
Scoring
- How the <bleep> does scoring work?
blufr scores are a combination of how much time it took you to answer a bluf, and bluf difficulty.
- How do you make it to the Top of the heap?
It's all about achieving those high scores. Tip: Get the blufs right.
- Why do some people have location scores? Where are mine?
iPhone players can play based on their location, and rank according to the city they play in. So if you get the iPhone app, you can become #1 in New York, Chicago, Austin or even Timbuktu.
- How do you get 'friends'?
When you're signed in with Facebook or Twitter, you'll be able to see how your blufr-playing friends from those sites rank on the score boards. The more of your Facebook/Twitter friends play blufr, the more friends you'll have in the game.
- What are all these awards? So many awards?!
When you achieve milestones, you’ll get awards on your profile page. Curious what’s ahead? Check out a list of all the awards.
